My Book Cover

By Marianna Crane

After a long career in nursing--I was one of the first certified gerontological nurse practitioners--I am now a writer. My writings center around patients I have had over the years that continue to haunt my memory unless I record their stories. In addition, I write about growing older, confronting ageism, creativity and food. My memoir, "Stories from the Tenth Floor Clinic: A Nurse Practitioner Remembers" is available where ever books are sold.

  1. I like it. It looks very professional, and there’s no nurse’s cap in sight. I just came across mine the other day. I was so proud to get the stripe, but then I never did wear the thing after graduation.

  2. It looks great! I’ve got my copy on pre-order. So much to be excited about with this post. Congratulations on all of your hard work and seeing it all come together so beautifully and professionally. I’m looking forward to holding it in my hands!

  3. I love the cover of your book and the reviews from “notables” on Amazon. Curious how white uniform plus cap meant “nurse”. I was in the Navy Nurse Corps during the Viet Nam conflict and the cap was a required part of the uniform and more emphatic on the military uniform where the stripes on caps indicated rank.
